Neighbourhood Safety Message - Bonfire Night and Firework Safety This coming week many of our communities will be celebrating Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night. Whether you are attending an organised display, hosting a fireworks event, or enjoying a bonfire with family and friends, we would like to remind everyone to put safety first. Fireworks and bonfires can be enjoyable when used responsibly, but they can also present significant risks to people, animals, and property if proper precautions are not taken. If you are planning to celebrate, please take a few moments to read the important safety advice provided by our partners at Kent Fire and Rescue Service: 🔗 https://www.kent.fire-uk.org/a-z/bonfires-and-fireworks As well as staying safe, it is also important that everyone understands the laws surrounding the use of fireworks. Fireworks can only be used at certain times and there are restrictions in place to prevent nuisance, anti-social behaviour and danger to others. For further information and guidance, please visit the Kent Police website: 🔗 https://www.kent.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/asb/asb/antisocial-behaviour/fireworks/ We will have officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team on duty during the evening to provide extra resourcing support to our Local Policing Teams when dealing with any rise in ASB or any matters that come to our attention which require a police response. Let's all work together to ensure Bonfire Night is safe, enjoyable, and respectful for everyone in our communities. | ||
